Mr Morritt’s plastic surgery experience

Andrew Morritt is a specialist plastic surgeon based in Sheffield, UK. He is on the GMC Specialist Register for plastic surgery (GMC registration number 4716565). Mr Morritt obtained the FRCS (Plast) qualification after completing 6 years of plastic & cosmetic surgery training. During his registrar training he worked at the plastic surgery units in Sheffield, Nottingham and Leicester.  Despite having enough experience at that stage to become a Consultant Plastic Surgeon, Mr Morritt undertook a further 4 years of specialist training with international experts in London, Toronto and Melbourne in order to learn the very latest plastic surgery and cosmetic surgery techniques. He is a full member of the British Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (BAPRAS) and the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeon’s (BAAPS). He specialises in plastic surgery procedures for the Breast and Body.

Research

Mr Morritt has published widely within the Scientific literature throughout his career and regularly presents his work internationally at Plastic Surgery Conferences. During his time in Melbourne, Mr Morritt undertook research in Tissue Engineering at the prestigious O’Brien Institute that resulted in a Medical Doctorate (MD) from the University of Melbourne. His research findings were widely reported in the International news and resulted in multiple prestigious scientific publications and presentations to learned societies.

 

Teaching and training

Mr Morritt is actively involved in teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels and tries his best to inspire the next generation of plastic surgeons.  He is an Honorary Senior Lecturer at the University of Sheffield. Mr Morritt trained in plastic surgery in three different countries and is currently incorporating many innovative training techniques learnt overseas into his practice.  Furthermore, he is Surgical Tutor for the Royal College of Surgeons and in this role is heavily involved in basic surgical training in Sheffield.
