Mr Morritt is a core member of the Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust Specialist Skin Multidisciplinary Team (SSMDT) and regularly treats patients with different types of skin cancer including BCC, SCC and Malignant melanoma.
Types of skin cancer
Mr Morritt regularly treats a wide variety of skin cancers both in the NHS at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, Sheffield and also in the Private sector at BMI Thornbury and Claremont Private Hospitals in Sheffield.
The most commonly treated tumours include:
Basal cell carcinoma (BCC; rodent ulcer)
Squamous cell carcinoma (SCC)
Malignant melanoma (MM)

Case 1. Thanks to my patient for giving permission to show these images before and 4 weeks following treatment for BCC (basal cell carcinoma) on the right cheek. The skin cancer was excised under local anaesthetic (25 min procedure). Note that the scar from excision tends to be longer than the length of the lesion (on average 2-2.5x longer).
Case 2. Excision of BCC (skin cancer) from left lower eyelid region. The purple dots show the extent of visible tumour but underneath the skin the skin cancer is usually more extensive and treatment requires the removal of a surrounding area of skin (red line). In this area of the face there was not much spare skin so a skin graft was taken from in front of the ear and used to reconstruct the defect. Appearances are shown after 6 months and should continue to improve with time.
